Chichester Workshop

The Chichester Workshop is a centre for liturgical art, currently located in South Harting, north of Chichester and is closely linked with Chichester Cathedral. Alongside the Workshop’s day-to-day work undertaking commissions across a broad range of traditional media, they offer an education programme that includes both practical artistic training and theological engagement with the principles of Christian iconography. We are delighted to count the team there (Aidan Hart, Martin Earle, James Blackstone) amongst our friends and colleagues.

St Dunstan icons

St Dunstan Icons is the name used for the work of Iconographer, Mosaicist and Liturgical artist The Rev Dr. Jim Blackstone. Jim studied under Aidan Hart. Prior to working as an iconographer, Jim worked in a residential social setting with emotionally and behaviourally challenged children; as a portrait painter; in a contemplative monastic community; as a teacher in London secondary schools; in university lay chaplaincy; and as an ordained minister in the Church of England. We are delighted that Jim will be doing the annual St Bede Lecture at The Benedictine Institute & Institutum Liturgicum in July, here at Ealing Abbey.
