Icon Board Course

This offers the opportunity to learn how to create Icon boards and how to become adept at making and applying Gesso to create boards suitable for the writing of Icons in the egg tempera technic & tradition. This course is a unique opportunity to learn how to create a traditional wooden board with Brace and Kivitos (or Kovchek) to work on special shaped round topped boards and to gesso a very special home Crucifix.
After students have successfully created the cross we hope to offer a seminar on turning the board into an icon in our studio at the Abbey

Price includes 3 specialist shaped completed boards per student to take home (The Crucifix, a round topped flat birch ply board & a wooden, braced kivitos board.
